Red Head Solon Fairy Wrasse (Cirrhilabrus Solorensis)
Also Known As: Tricolor Fairy Wrasse
Compatibility and Behavior
The Red Head Solon Fairy Wrasse is one of the most popular, versatile, and beautiful fairy wrasse species we carry. You can’t miss its bright, golden face and striking colors! In addition to bringing color and motion to the midwater column, it is generally peaceful and can thrive in a variety of tank settings including reef tanks. With thoughtful stocking order and ample swimming room, it can be an excellent centerpiece wrasse that displays beautiful flashing behavior during courtship or mild social displays.
Truly one of the most colorful fish in the trade, they feature a captivating mix of blue, red, gold, green, and more. Just like many of nature’s works of art, there can be a decent amount of color variation between species, but we do guarantee a colorful and beautiful specimen that will surely brighten up your reef or fish-only tank.
Aquarium Requirements
The Red Head Solon Fairy Wrasse thrives in a well-established reef or fish-only aquarium with plenty of open swimming space, broken up by live rock ledges and overhangs for retreat and nighttime shelter. It does not rely on burying in sand like Halichoeres wrasses do, but it still appreciates a complex aquascape with caves and shaded areas where it can sleep and feel secure. A tight-fitting lid or mesh top is highly recommended, as fairy wrasses can be enthusiastic jumpers when startled or during social chases.
