  • How to Order

    -Simply browse our site and add what you'd like to your cart. If you have special instructions or want to enter substitute items (in case something you ordered is unavailable), use the "Order Notes" section before checkout. We'd love the opportunity to select specimens that are a better fit for your tank.

    -NOTE: We cannot hold items for more than one business day before shipout. If you need to receive later in the week, please do not order until then.

    -Please be sure to enter a current email address for tracking information and order communication.

    -If you'd like to add to or modify an order, please send us an email with your modification, and we will make the change for you and send an invoice so you avoid paying for shipping twice.

  • Inventory Updates and Unvailable Items

    -Please be available for a call or email after your order is placed. If an item is unavailable, we'll reach out for a substitution.

    -We will NOT ship a modified order without your confirmation. Your order will NOT ship if we cannot reach you about an issue with your order.

    -If all items you ordered are available, we will proceed with shipment without contacting you.

    -Inventory Updates and Restocks occur every Wednesday and Saturday (Saturday is the bigger restock). The closer your order is to an inventory update, the more likely that everything you ordered will be in stock!

  • Shipping

    • We use UPS Next Day Air to send your fish to you in less than 24 hours.
    • Our shipping days are Monday-Thursday.
    • We'll ship your order on the soonest possible business day unless instructed otherwise.
    • Most orders arrive by 10:30 AM the next day, unless you are considered by UPS to be in a rural area.
    • If you're in a rural area, if the weather is very cold/hot, or if you cannot receive your order in the morning, enter the nearest UPS Store as your shipping address to Hold for Pickup. Orders almost always arrive there first, reducing stress levels for your fish.
    • Same-day Shipping Cutoff time is 12:30 PM PST (unless otherwise announced), so if you order after that cutoff time, your order will ship the next soonest business day.
    • Please stay tuned to the Orange Announcement Bar for important shipping updates. We may reach our maximum shipping capacity, especially on Mondays and Tuesdays; once that is reached, your order will ship on the next soonest business day.
  • 15-Day Guarantee Policy

    • Please be ready to receive and acclimate your fish on arrival.
    • Most fish are guaranteed for 15 days. Please refer to our Guarantee Policy page for full details and exclusions.
    • As long as your specimens are acclimated properly and promptly, arrive on time, and are compatible with your system/other fish, you will be covered by the policy.
    • The guarantee policy does not cover negligence or an improper environment for the fish.
    • To file a guarantee claim, simply click here.
    • Maintaining communication is the key to a favorable resolution. If something arrives alive but unwell, please immediately take a photo and email it to us to establish a paper trail.
    • A paper trail is crucial to achieving a favorable resolution in grey-area cases where the cause of loss is unclear.
    • Once your claim is approved, you will be emailed a credit code for the full value of the lost item.
